Alastair: Ofcourse, with preventive maintainence and carefull handling the engine will last longer. But These engines are quite old witch usualy means several owners. I do not think every previous owner handled the engines with care or has engine knowledge as we do. But maybe you are just lucky. Jus...

Yeah thanx. .

I have bougt spares for a crank rebuild, the 2nd gear parts come from Hakan Ohlson with undercut dogs.

Maybe I`ll get all of the dogs undercut, so I dont need to worry about that again :-|

Hi I have problems finding intake rubbers for my NS400R engine.. I`m fideling with the idea of remove the rubber from a "broken" intake, cut a silicon hose and clamp it in place. With this mod, the intake wil last for ever.. Shaved of some of the rubber, my first thougts: 1. Not enough space at the ...

Carbtune

Hi

Just ordered a carbtune kit, this enables me to tune my carbs correct. A good
tuning is needed for best performance and durability off the engine :)

http://www.carbtune.com/index.html

I will reply in this thread when I have tuned the carbs, hopefully this kit can do the job.

A bit offtopic but..: All oil leaks should be considered serious. I NEVER play with cooling and oil. Before every run on my NS400R, I check oil and cooling system to be in working order. This engine dont got the luxury of a oil bath like the four strokes. I have seen many NS400R engines that looks l...

This is the idle air adjustment screw that controlls. You can also feel that the no.1 cylinder dont fire, the exhaust is cold. You need to use a vaakum gauge. I think it is the left carb. that has the screw fixed, ie you can not adjust it. Therefore you must use this carb as a guideline. (Read the w...

Here is pictures from a 2 gear "fix" kit. I bought these items from Haakan ohlson.. :) The dogs are undercut, and the engagement "holes" are also undercut, by EBOS in sweden, The fork is re-velded by EBOS. You can clearly se the wear on the fork, scratched by the sprocket. http://home.no.net/jmilde/...

A standard NS400R with jolly moto pipes have 62hp at the wheel.

So this means that the 500 kit only ads 8 hp at the wheel ?

Look at the bright side.

If you were speeding with 111 mph in Norway, you would have gone tp
prison 7 months, lost your certificate for 3+ years and a ticket 1000-4000+++£ (it depends on your income).

The ns can rune relative fine without a battery.

The only problem is the oil level indicator. It need a certain voltage to function, thus it will not work properly at engine idlespeed.
