Re: Crank failure

Racer: Where do you live? :) I have 3 old cranks that need rebuild. Is the UK rebuilt (Ian) cranks any good? I have always thought the flywheel was out of balance from factory, because of the massive wear I have seen on several motors. My idea to balance the flywheel is to mount in up in a bearing a...

Re: crank seals wanted...

Holy s***t, I have eight of those orginal Honda inner crank seals. A goldmine :D Anyone with good Rothmans plastics that will trade? :D Anyway, I`m interested in NS400R engine parts. I`m into any deal that would help us using these engines for the future. 100-1000£ A complete seal kit would been nic...

Ian: I have many projects, for the time, wife, kids and work take a lot of time :) But I have a passion for NS400R. I have a dream of riding my bike again, so I`m still with you guys in here :D For the moment, I`m just sourcing out spare parts and planing the future for my little "dream". I enjoy th...

Crank rebuild parts - Alternative parts from other vendors

Hello NS400R friends, I have problems getting parts for a crank rebuild. The most expensive part on the bike. And hard to find item. I think the crank have a design flaw, or maybe the flywheel is not properly balanced. I have seen this problem on several engines, the bearing surface on the flywheel ...

Re: crank rebuild

Hello, I recommend that you get a bearing with locker pin. The bearing will come loose again. Call it a design flaw from Honda. I can see this fault in every single ns400r engine I have been into. I do not know why, but I reccon harmonic oscillations from the crankwheel. If you dont have a locker pi...

Fuel ? Spark?

My first tought is fuel problem.

Check the vakuum diagram for function, fuel valve. Open carb. drain and check if fuel is coming out.

Sorry, you have a major problem. Oil seal is damaged in the engine, and you are loosing power, un-equal combustion on revs. If you measure, you see that the carb. vakuum is way out for the broken cylinder and impossible til adjust. You need to open the engine. Probably a full crank rebuild. Dont use...

It is fully possible to turbo-convert regular two stroke engines that we use.

Her in norway, several snow-scooters are turbo convertet. 600 ccm two stroke rotax engines and the output a shitload of power.

I hope my ns400r/Tyga project is ready in may/june, I`m working on it right now :-)

What forks do you got? I use orginal forks and the handle bars is way to high for the fairing. Witch parts do you use? (fork legs etc)

Re: Carb rebuild?

Hey Brothers: During the rebuild my NS' cards were removed and cleaned out. They weren't rebuilt. During the course of the riding season I couldn't help but notice that my bike ran out of steam at ~ 120km/h. The fuel lines are ok, air supply is ok. My question is this; what do the fine members of t...

No, I have not abused this engine. I bought it that way, gambled that it was OK. I do NOT say that the NS400R engine is crap. Full race engines need a full rebuild after a race, they are not crap becouse of that. Compared to other serial production engines, I think the ns400r are one of the best. I ...
